Social Media Portfolio

My experience designing content for and managing social media platforms includes a chamber of commerce near my hometown, a national nonprofit organization, and my own side hustle. Canva is my graphic design software of choice, and I ensure that established brand guidelines, such as fonts, colors, and logos, are adhered to. Below are some samples of both graphics and written copy.

One of the unique things about Meta Business Suite, which I forgot to mention on Monday, is that the planner shows all holidays, even crazy, unrecognized ones. For example: today is WORLD EMOJI DAY!

We’ve concluded this series explaining the social media marketing funnel and how to use it to your advantage.

The final stage of the funnel is ADVOCACY. By now, your customers have discovered you, researched alternatives, chosen your brand, taken a desirable action (such as purchasing your product), and continued to engage with your brand. You should not stop here, however, but rather continue nurturing the relationship with the customer. Ask your customers if they’re satisfied with their purchase, and if they are, consider inviting them to become advocates or ambassadors of your brand, further helping you get noticed with the help of user-generated content (UGC). Entice them to discuss their thoughts about the product, such as in a personal social media post or a website testimonial, in exchange for discounts or other perks.

It should come as no surprise that more and more people are browsing the internet via their mobile devices (cellphones, etc.) these days. Therefore, it is more critical than ever to ensure that people can easily access and receive the same information on your website, whether they’re on a small-screened iPhone or a larger desktop PC. Many website builders allow you to switch between editing content for what it would look like on various screen sizes, such as changing text size, button location, image size, and many other design principles, independent of the two screen sizes.

There are now countless social media platforms out there, and any of them can be used to promote or run your business, with two of the best being Facebook and Instagram, in my opinion at least. When you have a strong presence on both of them, your chances of reaching your target market are greater than if you’re using just one.

However, managing multiple platforms at once, especially if you want to schedule posts in advance to be published at a certain time on a certain day to ensure consistency, can be challenging and oftentimes costly.

Fortunately, Meta (the owner of Facebook and Instagram) has developed the Meta Business Suite, where you can schedule posts, reels, and stories, run ads, interact with your audience, and manage your performance. Oh, and did I mention, IT’S FREE!

Okay, we’ve gone over why a website is important for your business, the various website builders out there (including coding), crucial design aspects, SEO best practices, how to include an online store or blog, and how Google ranks your website in a SERP. Now that you understand how to build a successful website, one question may remain: where can I find inspiration to get me started?

Fortunately, this article, posted on WIXBlog, provides examples of 15 businesses with over-the-top websites to hopefully spark your imagination. https://www.wix.com/blog/wix-websites-examples

Marketing campaigns are similar to scientific experiments. They both involve many internal and external factors that can influence the success (or failure) of your efforts. To assist with your analysis, there are tools called MARKETING METRICS that help you “grade” your efforts and highlight where they succeeded and where they fell short. These insights can be valuable for budget planning, meeting stakeholder needs, and guiding future campaigns, among other things.

Some common metrics you might come across include:

  • Customer Lifetime Value (CLV): The total revenue you expect a customer to generate over time.
  • Click-Through Rate (CTR): The number of people who visited a landing page after seeing your ad or post
  • Conversion Rate: The percentage of visitors who complete a desired action, such as making a purchase or subscribing to a newsletter
  • Cost Per Click (CPC): The amount you pay each time someone clicks on your ad
  • Engagement Rate: The number of likes, comments, shares, and saves on your content
